ABSTRACT

Objective:To evaluate the effect of management mode based on WeChat platform on patients with mild to moderate chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).Methods:A total of 100 patients with mild to moderate COPD treated in the outpatient or ward of the Respiratory Department of Shangqiu First People′s Hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were included. According to the randomization criteria singular number (observation group, control group), there were 50 cases in each group. The control group received routine outpatient treatment and health education follow-up, the observation group was enrolled into the WeChat management group of COPD based on the same treatment as the control group. Smoking cessation, eight-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) score for inhaled drug compliance, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease assessment test (CAT) questionnaire score, 6 min walking distance (6MWD) and lung function [forced expiratory volume in the first second (FEV 1) and FEV 1%pred] were compared between 2 groups before and after six months intervention. Results:After intervention, the intervention follow-up was completed in 46 patients in the observation group and 35 patients in the control group, the rate of loss to follow-up in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (8% vs. 30%) ( P<0.05); The success rate of smoking cessation, the score of MMAS-8, the score of CAT, the FEV 1 and FEV 1%pred in the observation group were higher than those in the control group [82.4% vs 53.6%, (5.17±1.06) vs (4.55±0.94) points, (6.72±4.29) vs (9.37±4.54) points, (1.87±0.44) vs (1.64±0.41) L, (69.48±10.97) vs (64.46±8.25)%] (all P<0.05). There was no significant difference in 6MWD between the observation group and the control group [(401.5±92.3) vs (382.9±79.7) m] ( P>0.05). Conclusion:Management intervention based on WeChat platform can improve the smoking cessation rate and medication compliance of patients with mild to moderate COPD, so as to reduce the symptoms of dyspnea and delay the decline of pulmonary function.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the influences of WeChat platform combined with problem-based learning (PBL) teaching method on the theoretical examination results, practical skills scores and satisfaction of nursing students in operating room.Methods:A total of 124 undergraduate nursing students from June 2018 to December 2019 from the operating room of The Affiliated Women's and Children's Hospital, School of Medicine, UESTC were selected as the control group, among which, 62 nursing students from June 2018 to March 2019 were selected as the control group, and 62 nursing students from April to December 2019 were selected as the research group. The control group adopted the traditional teaching method, and the research adopted WeChat platform combined with PBL teaching method. The results of theoretical examination, skill practice, preparation for autonomous learning, critical thinking ability and teaching satisfaction were compared between the two groups. SPSS 23.0 was used for t test. Results:The scores of theory examination and skill practice in the study group were higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05); after practice, the scores of self-management, love of learning and self-control in the study group were higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05); after practice, the scores of the three dimensions of curiosity, truth seeking, systematization ability and total score in the study group were all higher than those in the control group ( P<0.05); the satisfactions of the research group on teaching content, teaching problem design and teaching effect were higher than those of the control group ( P<0.05). Conclusion:The combination of WeChat platform and PBL teaching method can improve the knowledge mastery level of nursing students in operating room, cultivate their self-learning ability and critical thinking ability, and nursing students are more satisfied with the teaching mode.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of PBL combined surgery video teaching in the clinical teaching of urology clerkship for foreign medical students with the help of WeChat platform.Methods:The foreign students attending clerkship in urology department in 2019 were divided into two groups, control group and experimental group. The students in control group were given traditional lecture-type clinical teaching, while the students in experimental group were given PBL combined surgery video teaching with the assistance of WeChat platform. The results of questionnaire survey on teaching feedback between the two groups were compared. SPSS 24.0 was used for t test. Results:The total score of the questionnaire results in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group ( P<0.05). The experimental group was more superior than the control group especially in the aspects of learning interest stimulation, clinical thought development, learning ability enhancement and team cooperation. Conclusion:The PBL combined surgery video teaching method based on WeChat platform can help to improve the learning effect of foreign medical students in urology clinical clerkship.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the effect of case-based learning (CBL) based on WeChat platform in orthopedics practice teaching.Methods:A total of 101 orthopedic interns in The First Affiliated Hospital of Navy Medical University Hongkou Campus were randomly divided into two groups, with 50 interns in experimental group and 51 interns in control group. The experimental group conducted CBL based on WeChat platform for teaching, and the control group adopted traditional teaching method for teaching. At the end of the internship, the teaching effect on the interns was assessed by the "department graduation examination" and "questionnaire survey". The examination included basic theoretical knowledge and case analysis. Questionnaire survey included active preparation before class, teaching methods, class participation and discussion, interest in class and teaching effect. SPSS 17.0 was used for statistical analysis.Results:The total scores of the examinations, theoretical test and case analysis of the interns in the experimental group [(83.58±5.68) points, (49.98±3.71) points, (33.60±2.28) points, respectively] were better than those of the interns in the control group [(80.28±6.04) points, (48.20±4.12) points, (32.08±2.06) points, respectively], with statistical significance ( P < 0.05). The results of the questionnaire survey showed that the interns in the experimental group were significantly more satisfied with the teaching than those in the control group in such aspects as active preparation before class, teaching methods, class participation and discussion, class interest, class effect and satisfaction, and the differences in active preparation, participation and interest were statistically different ( P < 0.05). Conclusion:In the process of orthopedics practice teaching, the teaching method of CBL based on WeChat platform can mobilize the enthusiasm and participation of students, and can improve the clinical teaching effect of orthopedics, which is worthy of promotion and application in practice teaching.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the role of WeChat platform combined with flipped classroom in improving the working ability of resident doctors in the fever clinic.Methods:A total of 118 resident doctors who rotated in the fever clinic of department of emergency medicine were selected as the study subjects, and they were randomized into experimental group and control group, with 59 people in each group. The experimental group used WeChat platform and flipped classroom teaching, and the control group used traditional teaching. The results of theory assessment, operation performance and questionnaire survey were compared between the two groups. SPSS 26.0 statistical software was used for t test and chi-square test. Results:There was no significant difference in theoretical test scores between the experimental group and the control group ( P>0.05). The experimental group scored (91.61±3.01) points and the control group scored (84.52±4.02) points in operational assessment, with significant differences ( t=-10.85, P<0.05). The results of the satisfaction survey showed that there was no significant difference in teaching time distribution between the two groups, and the experimental group was better than the control group in any other aspects. Conclusion:The use of WeChat platform combined with flipped classroom during the COVID-19 epidemic can improve the level of operational skills of the resident doctors to wear or take off the protective clothing and collect nasopharyngeal swabs, help residents to avoid the infections, and improve the level of daily diagnosis and treatment of fever clinic.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore the implementation of the WeChat platform combined with family participation in the health management of dyslipidemia.@*Methods@#A total of 100 patients with dyslipidemia who underwent physical examination in the Health Management Center of Chongqing General Hospital from March to August 2017 were selected. Participants were divided into an intervention and control group by independent registration, with 50 patients in each group. The control group received routine health guidance and telephone follow-ups. The intervention group underwent the health management mode of the WeChat platform combined with family participation beginning in September for six months. Dyslipidemia was managed through joint participation of family members and medical care, and the professional health management and medical team conducted real-time consultation, monitoring, follow-ups, and answered questions. A t-test was performed to compare total cholesterol, triacylglycerol, and LDL cholesterol in the two groups, and a χ2 test was used to compare improvements in living habits in the two groups.@*Results@#There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After 6 months of intervention, fasting total cholesterol (6.18±0.93) mmol/L, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (2.96±0.67) mmol/L and triglyceride (2.20±0.35) mmol/L were all lower in the intervention group than in the control group (7.17±1.07) mmol/L, (3.26±0.57) mmol/L and (2.41±0.36) mmol/L, respectively, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After 6 months of intervention, the proportion of people in the intervention group (18% irregular diet, 22% lack of exercise, 26% insomnia, 14% smoking and 18% drinking) was significantly lower than that in the control group (58% irregular diet, 74% lack of exercise, 54% insomnia, 38% smoking and 42% drinking), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05).@*Conclusions@#Dyslipidemia is closely related to living habits. Through the help of the WeChat platform, family members and medical staff can participate together and effectively improve the living habits of people with dyslipidemia, so as to improve the indicators of lipid metabolism.

Objective@#To explore the effects of continuous care based on WeChat platform on self-care ability of patients with ileal bladder stoma.@*Methods@#A total of 80 patients with ileal conduit were recruited from a urological department of The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou university from September 2016 to October 2017. The patients were randomly divided into intervention group (n=40) and control group (n=40). Both groups received routine care, and the experimental group also used the continuation care based on WeChat platform. The outcomes of complication incidence, self-care level with stoma were evaluated at the times of 1 day before discharge, 4 weeks after discharge and 12 weeks after discharge.@*Results@#The self-care scores of the intervention group at 3 time points were 5.13 ± 2.79, 9.98 ± 2.68, and 15.65 ± 2.37, The control group were 5.35 ± 3.20, 8.13 ± 3.45, and 12.30 ± 5.93. The interaction of self-care level scores of the two groups were statistically significant (F(1.735, 67.680)=23.301, P<0.05). The incidence of complications of the intervention group at the 3 time points was 5.00%(2/40), 42.50%(17/40), and 22.50% (9/40). The control group were 0(0/40), 51.22% (21/40), and 63.41% (26/40). The incidence of complications in the two groups was statistically significant at the 12th week after discharge (χ2=14.679, P<0.05).@*Conclusions@#With continuous care based on WeChat platform, the self-care level of patients with ileal bladder stoma can be effectively improved, and reduce the incidence of complications.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the impact of WeChat-assisted follow-up on self-administer medication capability of stroke survivors.Methods Seventy patients were recruited from a tertiary hospital and randomly divided into intervention group (n=35) and control group (n=35).Patients in intervention group were given WeChat-assisted follow-up including health education program and behavior guidance,and patients in control group received regular discharge care.The effects of WeChat-assisted follow-up and regular care on self-administer medication ability,cognitive and behavior level were assessed.Results After three months' follow-up,the scores of self-administer medication capability (38 (32,42)),experience (25 (20,28) and the integral level (87 (71,92)) in intervention group were significantly higher than those in control group (capability 25(16,38),experience 21 (8.75,27),total score 68 (38,87)) (Z=-2.511,-2.033,-2.209,P<0.05).The self-administer medication experience,cognitive,capability and total scores increased significantly in intervention group after intervention(Z=-4.525,-4.610,-3.806,-4.718,all P< 0.01),while only the cognitive level increased slightly in control group (18 (10,24) vs 13 (11,18),Z =-1.794,P=0.073).Conclusions Follow-up intervention based on WeChat platform can improve the stroke patients' self-administration medication capability,however,the long-term effects on cognitive level and further reform need to be strengthened.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the effect of orthopedic clinical practice teaching design based on WeChat platform.Methods From September 2015 to August 2017,62 undergraduate students majoring in clinical medicine in the department of orthopedics of our hospital were selected as the study subjects,and randomly divided into the experimental group and the control group.With 31 interns in each group,the control group implemented the traditional teaching method according to the requirements of the syllabus.The experimental group was attached to WeChat production,push notification and communication of related courses on the basis of the traditional teaching methods.At the end of the teaching,the theoretical and operational tests,the comprehensive quality assessment,the evaluation for teachers' teaching work and the questionnaire survey of the two groups were administrated to evaluate the teaching effect.SAS 9.0 was used to do t-test and CMH-chi-square test.Results The score of the experimental group in the theoretical test [(87.52 ± 5.45) vs.(82.61 ± 7.70)],operational test [(94.36 ± 2.60) vs.(92.26 ± 3.01)],comprehensive quality assessment [(95.94 ± 1.61) vs.(93.42 ± 2.81)] and the evaluation for teachers' teaching work [(94.58 ± 2.06) vs.(92.55 ± 1.69)] were better than those of control group,and there were statistically significant differences.P values were 0.005,0.005,0.000 and 0.000 respectively.The questionnaire survey results show that the experimental group was better than the control group in learning motivation (P=0.035),literature study (P=0.013),curriculum arrangement (P=0.007),teaching satisfaction (P=0.029) and professional recognition (P=0.040).Conclusions The clinical practice teaching method based on WeChat platform is effective and feasible to the orthopedic medical students,which is helpful to improve students' learning initiative and master effective learning strategies.The application is worth promoting.

ABSTRACT

Objective@#To explore influence of the WeChat platform on the compliance of continuous treatment of scar in adult burn patients.@*Methods@#A total of 124 adult burn patients, conforming to the study criteria, admitted in the Department of Burns of our hospital from January 2015 to January 2016 were divided into WeChat group (n=63) and control group (n=61) according to the random number table. Patients in control group only received regular discharging rehabilitation guide, while patients in WeChat group received regular discharging rehabilitation guide and joined WeChat platform after being discharged from hospital. Through pushing rehabilitation plan and rehabilitation related knowledge, organizing support discussion of burn patients, answering the patients′ questions, members of WeChat platform intervention group conducted continuous treatment for 6 months on patients of WeChat group. The compliance of functional exercise of patients in two groups in one week before discharge and 3 and 6 months after discharge was evaluated by using the self-made functional exercise compliance log sheet. The compliance of using anti-scar drug and appliance of patients in two groups in 3 and 6 months after discharge was evaluated by using self-made anti-scar drug and appliance usage log sheets. Data were processed with chi-square test, independent sample t test, non-parametric rank sum test of independent sample, and Wilcoxon rank sum test.@*Results@#(1) The compliance ratio of functional exercise of patients in WeChat group (95.24%, 60/63) was close to 93.44% (57/61) in control group in one week before discharge (χ2=0.188, P>0.05). The compliance ratios of functional exercise of patients in WeChat group were respectively 93.65% (59/63) and 87.30% (55/63) in 3 and 6 months after discharge, which were higher than 68.85% (42/61) and 65.57% (40/61) in control group (χ2=12.615, 8.166, P<0.01). (2) The compliance of using anti-scar drug of patients in WeChat group was significantly better than that in control group in 3 and 6 months after discharge (Z=-4.150, -4.563, P<0.01). (3) The compliance of using anti-scar appliance of patients in WeChat group in 3 and 6 months after discharge was obviously better than that in control group (Z=-4.242, -4.301, P<0.01).@*Conclusions@#By using WeChat platform to provide guide for scar rehabilitation continuous treatment, adult burn patients have better compliance to functional exercise and usage of anti-scar drug and appliance.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effect of the health education of maternal perinatal period by WeChat platform. Methods A total of 200 pregnant women were given prenatal examination and delivery in from January 1, 2015 to December 31, 2016. They were divided randomly into two groups according to the attendance card number,each with 100 cases.On the basis of the consent of the pregnant women, the observation group took part in the traditional health education lecture and obtained the continuous maternal and infant health knowledge reeducation by WeChat platform.The control group was not concerned with WeChat platform and only participated in the maternal school curriculum. The three periods of questionnaire survey were analyzed to understand the cognitive degree of maternal health, delivery mode selection and neonatal care of two groups. Results The scores of admission and discharge in the observation group were(77.33 ± 9.64)and(85.26 ± 6.55)points respectively,higher than those in the control group(58.65 ± 7.48)and(64.39 ± 4.48)points,the difference was statistically significant(t=15.097,25.949,P<0.01).The satisfaction was 97.96%(96/98)in the observation group,and 93.75%(90/96) in the control group, the difference was significant (χ2=87.58, P<0.01). Conclusions Health education by WeChat platform play a positive role on the health care knowledge of perinatal period, rational choice of delivery mode and neonatal care ability. The natural childbirth, maternal and family participation and satisfaction are promoted too.

Based on WeChat platform,blended teaching is designed and implemented in oral surgery practice.The undergraduate intern can get in touch with the internship early,become familiar with it early and make an internship program early.In the process of internship,they can achieve the purpose of getting more questions,more summary and more test through teaching,discussing and contesting.After the internship,they can consolidate,review,exchange and expand learning.The preliminary practice shows that the teaching stimulates the students' interest and motivation in the clinical study of oral surgery,enhances the interaction between teachers and students and the supervision of the teachers to the students,and improves the effect of the practice teaching.

ABSTRACT

Objective To determine the effects of a health management program based on WeChat platform of overweight and obese diabetic high-risk population and to provide the basis for developing a scientific and effective weight loss program. Methods A total of 123 overweight and obese diabetic cases were identified during health examinations and were randomly divided into intervention(n=62)and control (n=61)groups.In the control group,traditional health lectures once a week for 3 months were conducted.In the intervention group,based on the control group using a micro-classroom setting to give diet and exercise interventions, diabetes information and intervention programs were uploaded to the WeChat learning platform, arranged at a fixed time with the patient online learning exchange, and with complete follow-up services. Low-energy intake therapy was used for diet intervention program, the daily calorie intake decreased by 15% to 40%;aerobic exercise combined with appropriate strength training were used as part of the exercise intervention program.Both groups were followed up for 1 year,measuring the dietary,exercise compliance, body mass index (BMI), body fat, total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), and fasting blood glucose (FBG) levels. Blood lipids, blood glucose, and weight loss were analyzed using an independent sample t-test and χ2test. Results The difference in the educational participation rate between the intervention (81.0%, 583/720) and control (72.9%, (516/708) groups was statistically significant(χ2=13.18,P<0.05).The reasonable proportions of carbohydrate,protein, fat, and salt were 85.0%, 70.0%, 73.0%, and 75.0%, respectively, in the intervention group, which were significantly higher than those in the control group(66.0%,47.6%,49.2%,and 52.5 %,respectively),The difference was statistically significant(χ2=5.76,6.24,7.34,6.50,all P<0.05).To compare the daily effective exercise time,the intervention group(22.8±2.1)min was significantly longer than the control group(16.2± 1.8)min,with a statistically significant difference(t=18.33,P<0.01).The TC,TG,LDL-C,and FBG levels in the intervention group [(4.9 ± 0.4) mmol/L, (1.5 ± 0.2) mmol/L, (2.7 ± 0.3) mmol/L, and (4.9 ± 0.6) mmol/L, respectively]were significantly lower than those in the control group[(5.6±0.4)mmol/L,(2.1±0.2)mmol/L, (3.9±0.3)mmol/L,and(5.8±0.6)mmol/L,respectively].The BMI in the intervention group(24.3±2.8)kg/m2 was significantly lower than that in the control group(27.8±2.9)kg/m2.Moreover,the mean level of body fat in the intervention group (19.6 ± 1.9) kg was lower than that in the control group (22.6 ± 2.1) kg, with a statistically significant difference (t=9.54, 15.93, 22.56, 8.54, 6.72, 8.22, all P<0.01). The effective rate of weight loss and fat loss was 65.0% and 60.0% in the intervention group,which were significantly higher than those in the control group (35.6% and 32.2%, respectively), with a statistically significant difference (χ2=10.29, 9.25, all P<0.05). Conclusion The health management program based on a micro-letter platform can improve the participation in the intervention and reasonable diet and exercise compliance and effectively reduce the weight and blood lipid and glucose levels of overweight and obese diabetic patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the experiences of using WeChat platform to assist health education of patients with PICC. Methods A semi-structured interview was conducted with 15 patients with PICC who accept to use WeChat platform to assist health education. Data were analyzed based on Colaizzi′s phenomenological research method. Results Four themes were extracted including the advantages of using WeChat platform to assist health education, disadvantages of using WeChat platform to assist health education, acceptability of using WeChat platform to assist health education and the suggestions of using WeChat platform to assist health education. Conclusions Understanding the experiences and problems of patients with PICC who accept to use WeChat platform to assist health education can help nurses take active measures to improve health education based on WeChat platform and to promote the health education carries out scientifically and effectively.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the effectiveness of using WeChat platform to assist health education for patients with PICC-line. Methods A total of 129 patients with PICC-line were divided into two groups according to the visiting order,64 patients in control group and 65 patients in treatment group. The patients in the two groups received routine education.In addition,the patients in the treatment group received WeChat-based health education for one month. The patients self-management, hope, catheter-related complications and unplanned extubation were compared between the two groups. Results The score of self-management and hope in the treatment group were(144.55±8.27),(38.28±3.18)points,while the score in the control group were (137.08 ± 6.47), (38.34 ± 4.60) points, which had the statistically difference in the score of self-management (t=-5.712, P<0.01). The incidence of catheter-related complications and unplanned extubation in the treatment group were 9.2%(6/65) and 1.5%(1/65), while the incidence in the control group were 29.7%(19/64) and 10.9%(7/64), which had the statistically difference (χ2=8.637, 4.898, P<0.01 or 0.05). Conclusions WeChat-based health education for patients with PICC-line achieves good effectiveness and simple and practicable and is worthy of promotion.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the effects of WeChat platform online service on the safety of pediatric family medica-tion and the quality of pharmaceutical care. METHODS:The online consultation records of"Qs and As for pediatric medications"were collected and summarized from the WeChat platform(WeChat ID:etyywd)during Jun.1st,2014-Dec.31st,2015 in our hos-pital. Statistical analysis was performed on the consulting time periods,age of pediatric patients with consultation demands,and the systems and mistake types involved in medication consultations. RESULTS:A total of 29 850 dialogue records on WeChat were collected,and 13 315 of these were related to medications(44.61%). The peak time of medication consultation was at 9:00-10:00 in the morning,with an accumulative consultation number of 1 840 cases(13.82%);while the least consultation time pe-riod was at 4:00-5:00 early in the morning,with only 13 cases(0.10%).Pediatric patients in need of consultation were more with-in the age of 1-6 years old,and most of them were preschool children(31.20%)and toddlers(26.32%). The systems consulted mainly involved the respiratory system,immune system and digestive system;in which respiratory system had the most cases (60.28%). There were 1 508 Qs and As records for medication mistakes that were occured or may occure and were corrected in time(11.33%),in which the mistake types were mainly the unsuitable use of antipyretics(3.91%),antibiotics abuse(3.14%), careless use of combination medication and excessive medication(3.04%),excessively large or small doses(0.69%),improper use of nebulized inhalant after discharge(0.41%),and excessive use of vitamins(0.14%). CONCLUSIONS:The WeChat plat-form expands the service scope of clinical pharmacists.As an extension of hospital pharmaceutical care,it reduces the risk of fami-ly medication mistakes due to a patient's or members'wrong recognition to a certain degree,reinforces communication between doctors and patients,and improves the experience of medical services.

ABSTRACT

Objective To evaluate the influencing factors of compliance and the compliance changes before and after intervention on chronic hepatitis B patients who oral nucleos(t)ide analogue (NA), by using the continuing care service items provided by WeChat platform. Methods A total of 67 patients with chronic hepatitis B were selected from January 2013 to June 2015. WeChat health care teams and WeChat groups were established to conduct continuing care intervention for 6 months by providing services, such as authoritative scientific diagnosis and treatment information, online consulting service, expert outpatient appointment, etc. Results The score of Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) in patients of different culture levels of illiteracy (4.75 ± 2.20) points, primary school or junior high school graduate (5.73±1.87) points,high school or vocational school graduate (6.31±1.45) points,university diploma and above (7.24 ± 1.23) points were significant difference (χ2=22.113, P 0.05) both in combination or non-combination. Compared to 6.45 ± 1.69 of pre-intervention, the total compliance score 6.86 ± 1.53 showed significant increased after intervention (Z=-2.551, P < 0.05), and the number of people with high compliance after the intervention increased while the number of people with middle and low compliance after the intervention decreased, and significant differencewas observed in two groups (χ2=9.521, P<0.01). Conclusions After the intervention of continuing care based on WeChat platform, the patients' compliance with nucleoside antiviral drugs were significant improvement than those of pre-intervention.
